East Coast Kayak Fishing - Mission Statement

"We have a unique and important role to play in the collective lives of those whom we support and connect with through our very own passion, the Kayak Angler. With this role comes a core responsibility to bridge and maintain the life lines that are in place to unconditionally support them and, as a result, we become a force of credible distinction that the industry (Innovators & manufacturers) rely upon to help cross that bridge simply because of the alliances and allegiance we have earned through the trust of our own community."

Team ECKF is a seasoned  group of kayak fisherman chosen from various states throughout the east coast committed to foster the growth and devlopment of the sport of Kayak Fishing. This geographical diversity within the team gives us strength as a unit and high visibility within the kayak fishing community. Together we commit to fishing all major kayak fishing tournaments, attending and supporting as many events local and abroad.

Austin Tiongco-Dee AKA Ti

Hello my name is Austin Tiongco-Dee AKA Ti
I have been fishing all my life. I have been Kayak fishing for about 2 years now and what an amazong time it has been. I should have started this a while back. I am currently active duty military till May 25th 2013 and I will be back home in NJ where I grew up and fished for many years. I stated fishing at a young age with my father on the surf and charters from Cape May. My wife is a big part in my fishing story since she supports my crazy habit 110% knowing I will be out on the water all the time fishing doing what I love , bring home some food, and yes then racking up a bill for the lost gear that I lose during the season or what I spend on the way out fishing at the local tackle shop. Thank hun for everything.

I started out on a Malibu X-Factor which was a great kayak but I had to upgrade from that since I fish a good ways off shore now and the tide and wide really does make it harder to come back in. I upgraded my Kayak to a Hobie Adventure Kayak with the Mirage Drive. I plan in the future to turn my Adventure Kayak into the Adventure Island Kayak for sailing and fishing. This kayak is so far the best for the need that I have for kayaks. The Malibu is rigged to perfection and currently working on the Hobie to get the Yak in top shape for the year.
The Nickname Ti came from a few of my buddies in the Army, my last name is way to long and some people cant pronounce it at all so they came up with Ti and it stuck to my platoon and everyone in the unit.
When I started to kayak fish I was looking all over doing my research as many do and East Coast Kayak Fishing came up, the guys on here were really helpful answering any questions I had and more. The first person I meet was Al Stillman AKA Yakman and Raymond M. Jones AKA acnjshink Al being a great guy really helped me out along the way here. Raymond is a Army buddy that is station in the same country I am, Germany and email back and forth. East Coast Kayak Fishing is an amazing site and happy I am a memeber and a Team Member here on this site someone always here to help including me to anyone who needs it.

Favorite Fish Species, and why:
I would have to say the Tuna they fight like no other fish in the ocean. Once you hook into one of these you know your in for a good time. The range of size of these fish is great also you can catch some smalls on your kayak or take a boat 50-100 miles offshore and hook into some Giant Tuna that are 800++ in size. The satisfaction of really one in is something that everyone has to experience once in their life.

Where did you passion for kayak fishing come from:
I grew up surf fishing every weekend with my father ( Tony Dee ) where ever we went. No matter what we were doing he would always make time for fishing and to show me new things on catching fish. I still remember the first time I reeled in a fish off of Diamond Beach in Cape May NJ. One day there was a guy who came up to the fishing beach where we all were I asked him a few questions and the first thing he said was "freedom" there wasn't just one spot to go he could go wherever and fish knowing where they were from the fish finder and not fishing on a crowded beach reading the water guessing the fish are there. I wish I could remember his name but e talked to me about 30 min about the sport and what it brings to the table. Right there I knew I had to get one and I did, now I am hooked and you can find me out on the water every weekend fishing and enjoying life. Plus I couldn't afford a boat yet so kayak was right up my ally.

No matter what I am here to help everyone that I can if you have any questions at all feel free to send me a PM on here or to my two emails listed above. In the Army I tell people all the time that there is no suck thing as a stupid question... really there is not so ask away and I will help out.
