By GENE KINGERY With the popularity of kayaking growing, more and more new models are being introduced by manufacturers and after market retailers. Recently, while at a couple of consumer fishing shows, I was struck by the progress (?) of kayak fishing and what is available in today’s market. I am from the school of KIS (keep it simple). This is mostly because I am cheap and not particularly good with new technology. With fuel costs these days it is no wonder that kayaking and fishing from this platform is getting more popular and sophisticated. We Americans have always been accused of excesses and now it appears that we are heading in that direction with some of the kayak offerings available today.
